Be a Seed Planter
Sometimes, when we teach, we don't see the results of our efforts. A child may develop the skills or actualize the concepts we taught them years after we leave their lives. In these cases, we should strive to see ourselves as seed planters, whose responsibility to society is to selflessly plant holistic seeds in our students. These seeds may never bear fruit in front of our eyes. We might not feel the immediate gratification of seeing measurable progress in our students' learning. Nevertheless, our role as those who expose our students to new ideas, model ways of being and open up doors to experiences they would never have elsewhere is an invaluable role on this earth.
We guide evolution. We shape societies. And we change the world.
We plant seeds.
